The Table of Shewbread
It first appeared outside the tabernacle, but soon would find a place in the temple. After building the temple, a man named Solomon was given specific instruction on how to furnish it. Just outside of the “Holy of Holies” was to be a table that held “shewbread” the Bread of Presence. The table held the bread and the religious leaders would replace each day to be sure the representation of the presence was constant, but never stale. The Showbread Table was a symbol of God’s provision and the bread represented his fresh presence.
The Showbread Table was birthed from our own life experience. Having walked through trauma and life-altering occurrences, we have realized that our journey isn’t unique to only us. We aren’t the only people who have been through or are in the middle of a battlefield season. In that same breath...neither are you! You’re not alone. The heart of our Father was never to inflict pain, but to use the pain and hurt in our deliverance. He is faithful to walk WITH US through the darkest valleys of life and patient enough to sit with us until we are secure. In this season, we have been given the task of implementing this verse.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners...You are set free!" Luke 4:18-19
God has tasked us with being hope givers and restoring the table setting. The table is our place of ministry and you are invited! We cannot wait to have you join us.
